Sweet & Sour Chicken
Ingredients:
Chicken:
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup of cornstarch
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Sauce:
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 Tablespoon tamari
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4-1/2 cup maple syrup (depending on how sweet you like it)
- 3-4 Tablespoons ketchup
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 325 F.
- Cut the chicken into cubes and season with salt and pepper. Next, add the chicken into a large plastic bag and add in the cornstarch, shake to coat the chicken.
- Whisk together the eggs in a bowl. Take the chicken coated in the cornstarch and dip them into the egg. Heat a skillet with the olive oil and add in the coated chicken.
- Cook the chicken for 20 30 seconds on each side until it becomes golden brown, then add the chicken to a baking dish.
- Mix all of the sauce ingredients together then add the sauce over top of the chicken. Add the baking dish to the oven and bake for 1 hour.
- Serve with some rice or favorite vegetables and enjoy!
