Chai Spice French Toast
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 3 eggs
- 3 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger, finely grated
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 6 slices bread of choice
- Unsalted butter for cooking on pan
- Maple syrup for serving
Instructions:
- Add the milk, heavy cream, eggs, brown sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, salt, ginger, vanilla extract to a large bowl. Whisk together until combined.
- Heat up a large skillet over medium heat and add 1 Tablespoon of butter to grease the pan.
- Soak each side of bread until mostly saturated. Transfer to skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they become nicely browned. Repeat this with the remaining bread slices, adding additional butter to the skillet between each batch.
- Serve with maple syrup and more butter if preferred.
