Sweet & Sour Chicken



  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup of cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 Tablespoon tamari 
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4-1/2 cup maple syrup (depending on how sweet you like it)
  • 3-4 Tablespoons ketchup 


  1. Preheat the oven to 325 F.
  2. Cut the chicken into cubes and season with salt and pepper. Next, add the chicken into a large plastic bag and add in the cornstarch, shake to coat the chicken.
  3. Whisk together the eggs in a bowl. Take the chicken coated in the cornstarch and dip them into the egg. Heat a skillet with the olive oil and add in the coated chicken.
  4. Cook the chicken for 20 30 seconds on each side until it becomes golden brown, then add the chicken to a baking dish.
  5. Mix all of the sauce ingredients together then add the sauce over top of the chicken. Add the baking dish to the oven and bake for 1 hour.
  6. Serve with some rice or favorite vegetables and enjoy!
