Homemade Bagel Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unbleached all purpose flour 
  • 1 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 whole egg, beaten 
  • Optional Toppings: everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt and baking powder. Then, add in the yogurt and mix it together with a fork until it becomes well combined.
  3. Add some flour onto a clean surface and remove the dough from the dough, knead the dough until it becomes tacky but not sticky.
  4. Divide the dough into four balls and roll each one into a thick rope and join the ends to create a bagel shape. 
  5. Top the dough with the beaten egg wash and sprinkle on your toppings of choice.
  6. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes and let cool for at least 15 minutes before cutting.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
